1. "Guns are for protect ourselves" so if we don't have a gun we are not protecting ourselves?
In the base that every country has a specific area to protect the people like police apartment, companies of security, the navy, militaries and more I don't think is a good idea to give that responsibility or option to the people who doesn't know a lot about how to use a gun.
2. The U.S has so many problems with violence, guns and wars and it could be a fact that makes people think that is normal to get a gun and use it whenever you want.
3. It looks like people carry guns for lessen security problems but every single day we watch more horrible stuff in the news that show how bad is to the country has legal guns and also how worst can be the situation if it doesn't stop.
4. In the case that for law we have to know how to use a gun and show a psychological test before get one, how can we predict that somebody is not gonna change psychologically and also how can we prove that after a problem with somebody else he is not gonna use an arm?
5. Is not necessary to protect ourselves to the government in a democratic country.
*Ben I have a question, Does democratic mean: a political system where the people decide for the authorities?

Hi Cami
How was this weekend?
As for gun control, I am totally opposed to have a gun. After I came here, almost every weekend I heard news about what someone is killed by a gun. I don't think a gun protect ourselves. It harms others rather than shields themselves.
See you in class

I'm glad you are posting and commenting.
And some states do require people to pass a course on gun safety before they can buy a gun.
One argument is: Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
What do you think?
About your question "Democracy" means "People Power" but no country has a true democracy. The US and many countries have a "Representative Democracy" so the people elect leaders to make decisions but the people don't make decisions.

After read that argument about "..guns dont kill people, people kill people" made me think, "Hey that argument really sound good" and i think is one of the arguments that convence you just because the words..
If somebody is using candies to kill, i dont want them
If somebody is using guns to kill, I dont want them.
Whatever the people is using to kill, shouldn't be easy to get.
